Elena Camacho Gallardo is an artist from Seville, Spain, currently based in Marbella. Elena studied Advertising and Public Relations, and started painting regularly during her 7 years in Santiago de Chile. She has always been attracted by the arts and decoration. Painting is Elena’s form of expression, a form of meditation, a way of connecting with her inner self. She sees abstract art as a way of expressing herself, without having to follow set rules or standards. It was after a period of change in her life and a search for purpose, that she instinctively started painting. She sees art as a form of exchange, of offering beauty and feelings to the general public. Her love for travels throughout Latin America, as well as her passion for Andean landscapes have inspired many of her works. She hopes to continue exploring new painting techniques as well as new ways of expressing herself through her art. I started with painting although I really consider that creation is what moves me, that’s why I love to make textures, mix materials, decorate ceramics and my biggest motivation is to keep learning new techniques.
It has been a complicated but wonderful journey, in which I have had to grow personally and spiritually to get to where I am now. Answering the vocational call has been a process of more than a year where I have had to go hand in hand with mentors who have supported and encouraged me to leave behind a corporate life that did not make me happy. A great challenge, which is undoubtedly very rewarding.
I have preferences in terms of styles, but every artist who has had the courage to take his path, fall down, overcome obstacles and continue with his life path, deserves all my respect and admiration.
My studio is located in Marbella, a coastal town in Malaga. A very special place surrounded by nature and sea where I have spent all my summers with my family. When the weather’s nice I am lucky to be able to work outdoors on my terrace, where I can listen to the birds singing.
For me every single guest would be a present, because I can learn from their way. But if I could choose I would invite Picasso!
I’m reading “ La voz de tu alma” – I highly recommend it, it is revealing and motivating.
Maybe a chef or a coach
I’m a libra, and yes, I’m always looking for balance and beauty although I have a strong Capricorn influence, which is good because I don’t go to the clouds but it’s a constant struggle between my creative and earthly side.
