Born in the heart of Provence, Southern France, Stephie grew up surrounded by the region’s soft golden light, rolling landscapes, and rich artistic heritage. This deep connection to nature and beauty has been a lifelong source of inspiration, shaping both her perspective and creative expression.
In 2015, she found a new home in Alaró, a picturesque village in Mallorca, where the island’s vibrant Mediterranean hues and ever-changing landscapes continue to influence her artistic journey. Specializing in textiles, Stephie is captivated by the delicate interplay between fabric and nature. She finds a certain magic in the way textiles move with the wind—fluttering, shifting, and breathing as if they possess a spirit of their own. This fluid relationship between material and environment forms the foundation of her work.
Stephie’s passion lies in crafting textile pieces that bring warmth, personality, and comfort into homes. Each creation is designed to transform a space into a sanctuary, a reflection of both her love for craftsmanship and the surrounding natural beauty. With an intuitive sense of style and an appreciation for tactile artistry, she seeks to infuse interiors with a sense of individuality, harmony, and effortless elegance.
Through her work, Stephie continues to explore the poetic dialogue between textiles and the world around them, creating timeless pieces that enrich the spaces they inhabit.
I have been immersed in the world of textiles since my childhood, thanks to my Italian grandmother, who was passionate about fashion and a professional seamstress. I would accompany her to source fabrics and buttons from the most beautiful shops in France and flea markets. I have been working exclusively with textiles since I started my business, which turns its 10th anniversary this year!
My first artistic creation was when I was three years old, on the wall of my bedroom. Fortunately, my parents have always allowed me to express myself freely !Â
After studying at the Fine Arts school in Avignon, France, I’ve always had this thirst for learning new techniques. This led me to explore for example watercolor technique and the shibori on fabric. My desire to reconcile both art and textiles came as an obvious choice.
I’m naturally curious, always eager to think, test, and discover new techniques on my own. While I do have a foundation in the arts, I truly believe that I learn more each day through my love for experimentation. It’s this constant exploration and willingness to push boundaries that fuels my artistic journey.
I’ll try to select a few, as the list of artists who inspire me is quite long.Â
I really love the work of Vera Edwards, a local artist from Mallorca. She uses earth tones that I adore.
Growing up in Provence, in the south of France, has certainly allowed me to appreciate the very Mediterranean works of Van Gogh. I remember visiting his house when I was very little, and his works impressed me, especially her stunning olive groves.
My creative studio is located in my home, and I have a space just for myself, very bright, which is essential for my creativity. There’s a section for painting, even though I often prefer to paint outdoors, and another dedicated to sewing when I need to create textile collections. My studio is my wellness space; I could even call it my meditation space, as I feel so at peace there.Â
Colors are very present there, I have visuals pinned to the wall, selected magazine pages that inspire me, a sort of mood board. And I have tons of fabrics in baskets, everywhere!
What a lovely question, especially as I’m so passionate about the art of the table and hosting! At my table, I’d have my family & my friends. It may sound simple, but that’s exactly what I love—the simplicity of these moments shared with them. And for that, I put my whole heart into it: I love creating spaces that bring us together and make us happy. My table is decorated in a Mediterranean style because I love the island of Mallorca, my home base in Spain, and all its artisans who create such beautiful objects. The menu would include a chicken tagine with turnips and chickpeas, a typical dish from Morocco. Moroccan cuisine is like the country itself—warm, colourful, fragrant, and subtle…
Film: Monsieur Aznavour with Tahar Rahim about the life of the singer Charles Aznavour, role model in terms of courage and giving everything to achieve one’s dreams, never giving up!
Book: Big Magic of Elizabeth Gilbert, creative living beyond fear, It’s more than a book, it’s my bible, it helps me move forward on my artist’s journey.
I would have been a fashion designer in Paris ! The world of haute couture fascinates me, from the design studios where fashion collections are created and developed to fashion weeks.
My star sign is Libra. This air sign is associated with ‘elegance’ and being an ‘atmosphere regulator.’ The search for harmony and balance defines it, as well as a love for beauty and creativity. I completely identify with this. Also, indecision when it comes to making choices ! I would say that this last point is due to my love for a lot of things. I marvel at many things, beauty fascinates me.
