Vynka is a self taught Australian artist specializing in painting. She was raised in a very creative environment and was always encouraged to follow her creative pursuits at home and began drawing in charcoal at a young age. Originally from Perth, Vynka spent many years living abroad to now return and be based in Cronulla, Sydney. Her works celebrate a quality which exaggerates colour and perspectives, intentionally exposing brush marks and paint drips to show signs of the hand made and contribute to the visual environment of her works. She believes there is honesty in the imperfect. Subjects for her art are a diverse fusion of her personal travels and experiences along with memories and encounters with the special individuals she has met. Vynka finds moments that inspire her, endeavoring to capture them and translate it into her art so her audience can experience it as well.
I’m a painter, I have been creating art since childhood.
I am a self taught artist. I haven’t studied art at university and I love the freedom of being able to create without a list of rules to conform to.
I love the Australian artists- Richard Clairmont’s work, his clever use of dramatic colour is something I find inspiring. Oh and of course some of the classics- Matisse.
I work from my home studio with my dog Frankie, which works so well for me, as there is no commute. I love the flexibility of being able to come and go as I need to.
I recently watched the film ‘One Life” which impacted and impressed me so much, it really highlighted to me just how kind people can be.
No idea.
