Trobat’s ethos—’We Found Them’—is, at its core, a celebration of artisanship. With the ubiquity of social media, a new generation of artisans spanning all art forms from ceramics to engraving, textiles to woodwork, are finding new ways to reach new audiences, but their work can still get lost in the noise. Curator Dolli Taylor’s passion and obsession is unearthing these artists and their work, bringing it to the Trobat community. Whether it’s a Uruguay-based oil painter, an abstract sculptor in Cape Town, or a wooden textile artist from Denmark, Trobat brings together the work of an eclectic global community of artisans, and tells their stories.
