London’s Portobello Road & Golborne Road Market is probably the world’s best known street market, with a history stretching back over 150 years. Largely famous for its antique and bric-a-brac stalls, Portobello also features a superb selection of fashion, food, crafts, books and music. Hundreds of traders sell all sorts of everything, old and new, and there’s plenty of delicious street food with market stalls selling cuisine ranging from Japan to Cuba. On Fridays and Saturdays the market stalls stretch a mile along Portobello Road and round the corner into Golborne Road, where you’ll find one-of-a-kind vintage fashion pieces, old jazz records, and memorabilia from the area’s rich cultural history.
